falling in love

‘Something was missing in both our marriages. Feelings came rushing back. ‘Maybe he’ll change his mind.’ Innocent messaging soon led to flirting.’ Woman recounts emotional journey loving man she can ‘never be with’

“We continued to talk every day. He made it impossible not to fall in love with him. The moment came. I was in his city. He walked up to the table. We hugged, but the next part I wasn’t ready for. The restaurant was a short walk back to my hotel. A month later, it all come crashing down. My husband saw some messages on my phone.”

‘My boyfriend believes women should NOT be allowed to vote. Am I wrong to question our relationship? I can’t tell if I’m overreacting.’ Woman forced to ‘rethink’ marriage after boyfriend’s ‘new, extreme’ views

“This is a person I’ve been with for 5 years. We’ve talked about marriage. In all other aspects, he is the perfect, most amazing partner. I can’t imagine my life without him. He says he didn’t tell me sooner because he thought he’d lose me. I don’t know what to think.”

‘The ambulance will be here soon. Want me to go with you?’ He was a stranger, all alone, with a bloody gash above his eyes. His friends were nowhere to be found. ‘Well, if you don’t mind.’

“‘I’ll pretend we’re dating.’ When the ambulance got there, the EMT suggested I get his number. ‘He’s cute!’ I hadn’t gotten a good look at him under all the blood and sweat. Maybe she was on to something. As they wiped away the blood, I could see his sparkling eyes.”

‘I was working on a cruise ship. I stepped out for fresh air. I didn’t know this decision would change my life. As it began to rain, I heard someone speak.’

“It was a very handsome man in front of me. As we spoke, I thought to myself, ‘I’ll probably never see him again.’ Weeks went by and I had almost forgotten about him. Then, one day, I was walking back onto the ship when I saw a man being scanned through security. I peeked over at his name tag. My heart fluttered.”

‘We moved in together. He was back and forth between me and the girl he was messaging. When I’d try to date someone else, he’d be back on my door step asking for another chance.’

“I’d always take him back. Any extra money I made was used to try and convince him I could love him more. Eventually, my best friend suggested I give up the fight and look into online dating. ‘It’s just nice to meet people you don’t know.’ I only ever sent one message. My life changed forever.”
