‘Let them fall in love with Mother Earth now, before they are distracted by numbers, rulers, and grades.’: Mom urges ‘let them be wild’

“Let them be wild.

Let them crawl through the dirt, whispering sweet nothings to ladybugs, singing songs to the flowers, and dancing with the moon.

Let them search for the fairies any time they see a tree covered in moss, or a mushroom pop up in your yard.

Let them take their time and walk aimlessly through a forest, with no intentions but to see what beautiful treasures the earth has to offer them.

Let them lay in the grass, searching the sky for signs of magic, and string chains of dandelions to adorn their heads.

Let them plant seeds, greet them every morning with a drink and a kind word, and watch their seedling grow and grow.

Let them experience nature and this world with a wonder that never ceases.

There will be plenty of time sitting inside, learning things we’ve all been taught are important – but this, this time of reverie in the simple pleasures of nature, this is the most important.

This is a time where magic truly exists and can be seen in the smallest bug, or the tallest tree.

So let them be free to explore Mother Earth in all her splendor, and teach them to love and care for her today and always.

Let them fall in love with her now, before they are distracted by numbers, rulers, and grades.

Let them slow down and truly live entwined in the magic of mama earth.

Happy earth week! How are you spending it?”
