7 Simple Hacks To Save Time As A Busy Mom

More Stories like:

As a busy mom of 3 kids, I’m always looking for ways to save time. I end every single day exhausted from trying to keep up with my to-do list. These tips and mom hacks help me have a more productive day and save me so much time. I hope they help you too!

Mom Hack #1 – Order Your Groceries

This is the only way I survive grocery shopping each week. If I had to take all three kids into the store, I would forget half of my list and come home exhausted. I now order them online. I use a service called Click-list with my local Smith’s, but I’ve also used Amazon Prime and Walmart grocery pickup. I love it! And when I run out of something, I simply add it to my cart instead of writing it down. Then, each Friday, I meal plan and order everything I need. They even load the car for me; it’s a game changer!

Mom Hack #2 – Keep Snacks Kid Accessible

If your kids are anything like mine, they eat constantly. I recently organized our pantry and put everything in separate bins and organizers. (Thank you, Container Store!) Ever since I’ve done this, my kids go and make their own snacks. It’s wonderful, and I even put snack bowls in the cabinet next to the pantry. Amazon has great organizers too, or even your local Dollar Store.

Mom Hack #3 – Invest In A Lost And Found Toy Bin

This is an awesome tip considering my home is always overrun with toys. My kids are always looking for some random toy they just can’t live without. After one too many times of searching the entire house for a random action figure, I came up with a system. At the end of the night when we clean up, we’re always tired, and that’s when everything gets all mixed up. So as we clean up, if there is a toy out of place that we are too tired to put away in its proper place, we just put it in a toy bin. We use one particular basket in our living room as the random toy bin. Now when they can’t find a certain toy, it’s usually there. It’s much easier for all of us.

Mom Hack #4 – Prep For A Busy Day The Night Before

This helps me tremendously. If we have a busy day of clinic appointments or family events, I prep everything the night before. I lay out clothes, pack a snack bag, and put everything on the kitchen counter. That way, the next morning, when I haven’t had my coffee yet and my brain is still asleep and cranky,  I don’t forget anything as we head out the door. Note, I don’t forget my coffee though…

Mom Hack #5 – Put A Shoe Basket By The Door

I have a hidden shoe basket in our entryway. I tucked it in a bookcase so it doesn’t look cluttered, and that’s where I keep all my kids’ shoes. It’s so easy to have one common place near the door for the kids to find their shoes. As ALL mom’s know, there is always one kid missing a shoe – so this system helps a ton.

Mom Hack #6 – Do One Load Of Laundry A Day

This is something I just started since I’m always desperately behind on laundry. I now try to do one load of laundry a day. It’s been much easier to keep up with. I don’t always have time to fold it at the end of the day, but that’s what the fluff setting is for the next day.

Mom Hack #7 – After A Rough Day, Order Take Out

This is my favorite hack. Sometimes life gets hectic and you have a rough day. The last thing any mom wants to do is cook after a tiring day, and kids apparently are not fans of having cereal for dinner. So once in a while when I have a tough or exhausting day (aka once a week), I order take out. Lately we’ve been using UberEats. Worth every penny in my opinion, and it lifts my spirits right away whenever I get to eat dinner in my comfy pj’s. My husband is a fan of my happy mood too, so he doesn’t mind the splurge in the budget every so often. Right babe? Hey remember, happy wife, happy life.
