‘Every day in the cycle of wake up, feed, clean, repeat, you’d think I’d be able to handle it all. I STILL get burnt out.’: Overwhelmed mama urges ‘this is the messy truth behind motherhood’

“Just because moms CAN do it, doesn’t mean it’s always easy for us…⁣⁣

With motherhood comes the ability of multitasking.

Breastfeeding a toddler amidst mounds of laundry is just an average daily task. I can even do both of these things WHILE going to the bathroom. I call that talent.

But just because we make it LOOK easy, doesn’t mean it always is. I get overwhelmed… more than I’d like to admit; but for the sake of this post, I’ll say it: it happens every day.

Every day in the cycle of wake up, feed them, clean and repeat, you’d think I’d be able to handle it all because I know what to expect.⁣ But nope. ⁣⁣

I still get burnt out. Even simple daily tasks become hard for me to find motivation. Enjoying moments with my kids can become hard. I find myself losing patience quickly.

And among feeling all of that, we also begin to feel like we’re not being a good mom because of it.⁣⁣

That’s the messy truth behind motherhood. And to anyone who’s not a mom, it looks and sounds confusing because it is. ⁣⁣

Moms are so good at what they do, but being good at something doesn’t mean you don’t struggle with it too. And that’s okay. ⁣⁣

It’s okay to just be the mom that ‘can.’”
