“Just because moms CAN do it, doesn’t mean it’s always easy for us…
With motherhood comes the ability of multitasking.
Breastfeeding a toddler amidst mounds of laundry is just an average daily task. I can even do both of these things WHILE going to the bathroom. I call that talent.
But just because we make it LOOK easy, doesn’t mean it always is. I get overwhelmed… more than I’d like to admit; but for the sake of this post, I’ll say it: it happens every day.
Every day in the cycle of wake up, feed them, clean and repeat, you’d think I’d be able to handle it all because I know what to expect. But nope.
I still get burnt out. Even simple daily tasks become hard for me to find motivation. Enjoying moments with my kids can become hard. I find myself losing patience quickly.
And among feeling all of that, we also begin to feel like we’re not being a good mom because of it.
That’s the messy truth behind motherhood. And to anyone who’s not a mom, it looks and sounds confusing because it is.
Moms are so good at what they do, but being good at something doesn’t mean you don’t struggle with it too. And that’s okay.
It’s okay to just be the mom that ‘can.’”
