‘Daddy!’: Deployed Dad Sneaks Into Sleeping Son’s Room For Sweetest Wake-Up Call Ever

More Stories like:

We can’t underscore enough how grateful we are for the sacrifice our service personnel make for our freedom every day. Wife and mother Meek Watts sees that sacrifice every day because her husband has been deployed “for a while.” When he managed to get some time off and came home for a visit, they didn’t tell their son he was coming so that they could give him the surprise of his life!

In a video Meek shared on Instagram, her husband prods their son, who is asleep in his bed. It takes quite a few attempts to wake the sleeping boy, but once he does, you’ll want to get the tissues! Sitting up, the little boy stares at his father for a second before it sinks in that he’s actually there. He finally leaps into his father’s arms with a joyful, “Daddy!” and proceeds to burst into tears of pure joy.

As difficult as it must be to leave home for long periods of time, wonderful reunions like this one take the sting away just a little bit.

Watch this soldier surprising his son in the video below.
