‘You come home from an 8-hour day job to start your second shift as Chief Tickle Monster. You do the dishes when mom is at her wit’s end, without even asking.’: Mom pens appreciation letter to working dads

“Let’s give a round of applause to the unsung heroes of the family…

The working dads.

To the men who head to work each morning and pour their hearts into a job they may or may not love so their family has food on the table.

To the partners who come home from an eight or nine-hour day job to start their second shift as Chief Tickle Monster or Executive of ‘Resetting the Tone’ for the evening as mom is at wit’s end and needs to tap out.

To the partner who gives everything to his work during the day, then everything to his family at night.

You do the dishes without being asked.

You clean the counter without even having a chance to sit down for the evening.

You wrangle the kids to another room because you can see mom is about to blow her fuse.

You don’t get enough (if any) praise. You don’t know that you are the spoke to this family wheel.

Even though we don’t say it, you are a corner piece of this puzzle and we adore you. You are loved, valued, and cherished.

Thank you, working dads.”
